Woods and Workmanship
The visual construction elements of the Vendôme
programme are in variegated European cherry veneer
(planked). The veneer strips are assembled in a “variegated”
pattern in the veneer formation. In so doing, the
handcrafted production method and the solid character
are especially emphasised.
The designer has placed particular value upon the tension
that is provided by the change in the direction of the veneer
between horizontal and vertical. The side sections of the
furniture body are veneered in a vertical direction. The
fronts of the doors and drawers are veneered horizontally.
The legs of some pieces of furniture are in solid beech.
HÖLZER
Holz und Verarbeitung
Die sichtbaren Konstruktionselemente des Programms
Vendôme sind in Europäisch Kirschbaum bunt furniert
(beplankt). Die Furnierstreifen werden „bunt“ im Furnierbild
zusammengesetzt. Die handwerkliche Herstellungsweise
und der massive Charakter werden dadurch besonders
hervorgehoben.
Der Designer legt besonderen Wert auf die Spannung,
die durch den Wechsel der Furnierrichtungen zwischen
horizontalen und vertikalen Elementen vermittelt wird.
Die Seitenteile der Korpusmöbel haben eine vertikale
Furnierrichtung. Die Fronten der Türen und Schubladen sind
horizontal furniert. Die Füße einiger Möbelteile sind in Buche
massiv.
LEGNI
Legni e lavorazione
La collezione Vendôme è realizzato con elementi costruttivi
rivestiti con impiallacciatura dogata in ciliegio europeo.
“Impiallacciatura dogata” consiste nel comporre i fogli di
tranciato in maniera alternata a diverse larghezze.
Per dare maggiore enfasi alla collezione Vendôme il designer
ha utilizzato il tranciato mescolando il senso della venatura
in maniera diversificata (verticale – orizzontale). I fianchi
dei mobili sono impiallacciati con la venatura in senso
verticale. I frontali hanno la venatura in senso orizzontale.
Le gambe di alcuni modelli sono in faggio massello.
