Upholstery Frames
The woods for the frames of the upholstered furniture come for the most part from
European forests that are managed according to the principles of sustainable forestry.
Large surfaces of the frame are produced with different wooden materials such as
multi-ply wood, wood fibreboards, etc.
Upholstery Body
High quality cold-pressed foam or contoured foam which, depending upon the model,
also includes interior springs, no-sag corrugated steel springs, or elastic bands. To
increase sitting comfort, some models of our collection are equipped with interior
springs that are surrounded with foam. The upholstery and the cushions are made from
foam that is free of CFCs. Our foams are highly flame-resistant. The formation of folds
and creases on upholstered furniture is a natural process that is caused during use and
through the properties of the slipcover and upholstery materials.
Casual Upholstery
An upholstery composition that is soft and smooth is used. A soft “plopping down” is
made possible by a favorable distribution of weight, providing comfortable sitting. The
differing stretching factors of the slipcover and upholstery material lead to a natural
formation of folds and creases. Folds and creases with form depending on the model
and form of the slipcover: this is typical of the material.
Fabrics
The Selva Fabric Collection presents up-to-date slipcover fabrics and upholstery leather
in numerous colours and a wide variety of designs. Please note the properties that are
typical of the material as referred to in the fabric collections.
Differences in Colour
For technical reasons within the fabric production process, slight colour tolerances
within the fabric pattern are unavoidable. Therefore, there can be no guarantee
of an exact colour match with subsequent orders. In spite of the advanced printing
technology, differences in colour between the actual fabrics and their illustrations are
unavoidable. They therefore do not represent grounds for complaints or returns.
Velours
With velour, you should be aware that the influences of pressure, heat, and humidity,
such as occur when sitting on upholstered furniture, can over the course of time lead
to the formation of slight changes in the pile. These shifts in the pile result in more or
less visibly different shadings of the surface. This property of velour is known in the
technical jargon as “lustre from use” or “shiny seat”. These are typical of the article and
therefore not to be avoided.
Care of Upholstered Furniture
Like all materials that experience everyday use, furniture slipcover fabrics require regular
care, since they are exposed to constant soiling from dust and contact. For the regular
care and cleaning of upholstered furniture with light soiling that has occurred through
normal use, remove as much dust as possible through intense vacuuming or brushing
or light beating. For thorough cleaning and the removal of stains and heavy soiling, we
recommend entrusting the job to competent experts.
We reserve the right to effect technical changes serving improvements of quality and
therefore does not constitute grounds for a claim.
